Mission
WSPA has been working to end cruelty towards animals and to improve their welfare for more than 50 years, carrying out and funding field work that directly alleviates animal suffering, promoting the passing of legislation that protects animals and providing education and training to improve animal welfare.

Activities in disaster reduction
In times of conflict or natural disaster, animals are often overlooked. WSPA's trained and experienced rescue teams are often first on the ground to help animals. They work alongside local vets to provide urgently needed medicine, food and water for sick or injured animals. They also move animals away from danger, create temporary shelters and re-home rescued animals.
